Cup Holder on CrutchHip pain caused by osteoarthritis is no joke, but there are a number of things that you can do to reduce the pain.  The purpose of this website is to share a range of tips, both pre and post op, that I have found to help me.  These tips will not resolve your arthritis, but each one can help in their own way.

There is little doubt that constant pain can make you very tired.  Whilst it is sensible to rest when necessary, it is also vital that you keep yourself as fit as possible.

Eventually you may decide to approach your doctor about the possibility of treatment.  If an operation is called for then these tips will help keep you going and should enable you to maintain some level of fitness.  This will enable you to have a better and faster recovery from surgery.

Having had my first hip operation seven years ago, I was determined to make my recovery even more effective the second time around.

Probably the tip that I am most proud of is my solution for the eternal problem of how to carry things (drinks in particular) when you have crutches.
